Pinterest image sizes
Pinterest crops anything that doesn't match the shape it expects, so the safest move is to export at the exact ratio rather than letting the feed decide which part of your image survives.
| Placement | Pixels | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Standard pin | 1000 × 1500 | 2:3 |
| Square pin | 1000 × 1000 | 1:1 |
| Long pin | 1000 × 2100 | 1:2.1 |
| Idea pin | 1080 × 1920 | 9:16 |
| Board cover | 800 × 800 | 1:1 |
| Profile photo | 165 × 165 | 1:1 |
Which one should you actually use?
The 2:3 standard pin at 1000 × 1500 is the default for almost everything. Square pins are useful when the same graphic also has to work on Instagram. Long pins get more vertical space in the feed but are truncated on some surfaces, so keep anything important in the top two thirds.
Crop to fill or fit the whole image?
Crop to fill keeps the frame completely covered and trims whatever hangs over the edge — best for photos. Fit whole image shrinks the picture until all of it is visible and pads the rest with a colour you pick — best for logos, product shots on white, and graphics with text near the edges.
Does this upload my images?
No. Everything runs in your browser through the HTML canvas. Your file never touches a server, which also means it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
