A comparative comparison between usb 2.0 & 3.0
With the growing advancement of technological gadgets, everyone is looking for latest trends and wants to get tools of modern era. And when it comes to usb flash drives, demand of those people will be same as like for other tools. So it’s pretty much nice idea to write down a complete comparative comparison between usb 2.0 & 3.0.
Below are some key points to note for better understanding.
1: Backward compatibility of both:
This is the technology which comes with support of old versions of any tools. Means usb flash drives should have backward compatibility is order to keep things in a smooth way. Like usb 2.0 is compatible with usb 1.1, but usb 3.0 is comprehensively support older versions including usb 1.1 and 2.0.
2: Maximum Transfer rate comparison:
Usb 2.0 data transfer rate is up to 480mbps while usb 3.0 is up to 4.8Gbps, which is much bigger than 2.0. So it means, usb 3.0 has fastest data transfer rate with respect to other usb versions till now.
3: Bi-Directional Data Transfer:
This is very new and interesting addition to usb 3.0 which is bi-directional data transfer. It means in both ways you can download and upload data at the same time. But in usb 2.0 its only one directional data transfer.
4: Charging Power:
Charging power means more the power transferred through cable or port of any device. Usb 3.0 has 900milliamp while usb 2.0 has only 100milliamp charging power.
5: First availability on market:
The very first availability of usb 2.0 was 2001 and usb 3.0 was in 2009.
Now my recommendation is to go for usb 3.0 by seeing its very advance features and more functionality rather than usb 2.0 in a sense. And 3.0 is also more reliable in data transfer with faster speed.
So that was a pretty much comprehensive comparison between usb 3.0 and usb 2.0 in a way. We have discussed about their key features and details. For further more discussion you can leave a comment below. We’ll happy to reply back.
